About the author.

Victor de Almeida is a UK-based novelist and filmmaker whose work spans epic fantasy, mystery, and character-driven drama. His background in filmmaking has shaped a strong sense of atmosphere, pacing, and emotional restraint, qualities that now sit at the heart of his fiction.

He is the author of the epic fantasy novel Birth of Chaos, the mystery The Loch Linnhe Murders, and the fantasy novella Dreamfall: Whisper of the Sister Moons. His stories are often concerned with power, belief, moral ambiguity, and the quiet human choices that ripple outward into far greater consequences.

Birth of Chaos represents the culmination of a story first conceived at university and refined over many years, blending large-scale worldbuilding with intimate, character-led storytelling. Alongside his fantasy work, Victor continues to explore grounded mystery and crime fiction and has already begun work on the second novel in the Ursula Dankworth series, the follow-up to The Loch Linnhe Murders.

In addition to writing, he remains active in film and festival programming, bringing the same commitment to craft and collaboration across all his creative work.
